I wrote this song in response to 9/11, where we in North America could choose our response. The impact of the choices made then is still playing out today. I keep hoping that this song would become irrelevant. It seems just as relevant today in both Canada and the US.
Greg Dixon performs Midnight On The Prairie with Kaleigh Wray and Irene Kobylkin-Somody at the Singspiration Singers Coffee House.
Singspiration Singers
Here is a rare duet I sang with the choir.
Greg Dixon & Irene Kobylkin-Somody sing Julie Blue’s Believe In Yourself with the Singspiration Singers, December 11th 2010.
The Saints Christmas Carolers
I played drums on these recordings. We caroled door to door and raised money for the Vancouver Province Empty Stocking Fund.
Bob Braganza, Sylvia Fisheigh, Bill Allman, Linda Schratchely, Mike Mc Cray, Dan Richard (bass), and Donna Easton.
RetroActive
Here are some of the rare footage of me playing drums.
RetroActive featuring Vic Wecherle, Johnny B. Woode, Greg Dixon, and Vince Wesley plays for the Special Olympics dinner and dance. Alan Jones provided sound. Dale Wilkie ran the camera.
NRG ~ Nick Bubas, Ruth Townsend, and Greg Dixon
I played bass. I’m a decent faker on bass:-)
Nick, Ruth & Greg (NRG) perform What A Difference A Day Makes, Mercy, Autumn Leaves, and (Funky) Summertime.
Quirky Music Videos
I helped Bill Allman and our musical friends create two fun music videos.
If Mama Ain’t Happy (Nobody Happy) has over 35 thousand views.
I created the video and added the drum part.
My Baby’s Going To Jail For Christmas has over 3 thousand views.
I created the video and appeared as Cellmate Steve.
The Santa sticker at 1:22 was necessary!
